Today is my 20th birthday and I am hoping it will be the best one ever :)
The doctors have big plans for today. They have already stopped his Heparin (blood thinner) and plan to take out the balloon in his heart. If all goes well with that and they can sit him up like they want then they will try to take out his breathing tube this afternoon or early evening!! So excited!! Please send lots of big prayers upstairs that we have a successful day! If I had a cake and candles that would be my wish! He had another restful night and I just slipped back to see him and he looked very peaceful. Hopefully we will be talking to him this evening to see what in the H-E- double hockey sticks he was doing having a heart attack! :)
The doctors have made a point to continue to tell us how lucky we are that he is alive. The kind of heart attack that he had is called the "Widow Maker." Real comforting I know. Apparently it has 50% mortality rate. WOAH. We are very lucky that my father not only fell to restart his heart, but that we found him and got him to the hospital so quickly. Yay for 911. We have lots of thank you cards to send out to some pretty awesome emergency staff.
Will let you know more as soon as things happen. We are playing the waiting game right now. Hope to write many more happy blogs today! Cross your fingers and say lots of prayers!

Barrett
